Topanga Full House Remodel

This project was an existing dueling located in Topanga, California and took about 10 months to remodel the whole house. We designed and remodeled both interior and exterior of the house, custom designed the bathroom and the kitchen using premium materials. For the master bathroom we used an 8 by 14-inch wood-look porcelain tile from Italy along with a dirt-side pattern travertine for the shower wall finish. We built a 108-inch custom white oak vanity designed by Vladimir and the client with a Calacatta engineered quartz counter with quarter inch bevel finish. The other existing wall was wrapped with 1 by 6-inch shipped lap and painted white. Oil rub bronze and copper were used as a finish for the sconces and plumbing fixtures. The front door of the house was originally an 8 by 6-foot double door system in which we had replaced with a single panel 8 by 6-foot pivot door. For the living room and the master bedroom openings, we had removed the walls which included fire places and French doors to create one solid opening in which we filled with an 8 foot by 15-foot lining pocket system. For the guest bathroom #1, we used a pattern design cement tile which would run seamlessly into the shower to create a zero-entry shower, we wrapped the entire walls with a 2 by 8 white block ceramic tile in which we used two patterns of install to create the scheme in the bathroom. For guest bathroom #2, we decided to use a 6 by 36-inch wood look porcelain tile for the bathroom floor and walls to extenuate it into 24 by 48-inch Calacatta porcelain tile. We used brushed nickel and chrome finishes as accent. For the kitchen we used an 8 by 48-inch porcelain wood look tile from Italy as the main flooring for the area, the same flooring would continue to the outside tile deck of the property. The cabinets that we chose were Dovetail white shaker cabinet as the base for the kitchen.  Statuario Colorado porcelain slabs from Italy that came book matched were used for the counter surface and the water falls in the kitchen and the pantry. Custom wood beams along with custom barn doors and shelving created natural accents within the space.

I don't think that architecture is only about shelter, is only about a very simple enclosure. It should be able to excite you, to calm you, to make you think.
